First WTF of the New Year.

Our office just lost email for the rest of the day.  The reason:  our mail hosting company has a 500 SMTP connection an hour limit on each IP address.  That’s right, in an office of 50 workstations each user can only send 10 emails an hour.  We’re waiting now for it to reset and take us off the blacklist, which tech support at the hosting company can’t do manually for some reason.   Next project for me?  Find a real hosting company.  I’m thinking Google, but I’ll have to look into the details first.
